Prepare – Mow your lawn to about 1.5 inches and remove any debris, dead grass or weeds. For best results, add a thin layer of fresh, weed-free topsoil to improve seed-to-soil contact and provide a nutrient-rich base. Loosen the top layer of soil with a rake to ensure the seeds can settle in.
Spread – Shake the seeds directly from the box or use a spreader for larger areas. Apply at the recommended rate for overseeding or patching bare spots. Lightly rake the area to ensure good seed coverage without burying the seeds too deeply.
Water – Gently water the area immediately after seeding. Keep the soil consistently moist (but not soaked) by watering lightly once or twice a day. To help your new grass thrive, avoid foot traffic, pets, and mowing until it grows to about 3 inches tall.
PRO TIP:
Apply WAKE UP about 2-3 weeks after seeding, once the grass has sprouted and is at least 1-2 inches tall.
This timing allows the seedlings to establish while still benefiting from the nitrogen boost for healthy growth and the phosphorus for strong root development.
